This week Mob Scene with George Anastasia looks into the story of Nicholas "Nicky Skins" Stefanelli. Stefanelli was a soldier in the Gambino family who was based in North Jersey who turned rat and wore a wire for the feds for two years. These secretly recorded conversations have begun to surface in mob cases in both Philadelphia and New England. Recording from Stefanelli are the basis for new indictments against the Philadelphia mafia including acting Philly mob boss Joseph Ligambi. Stefanelli recorded conversations will also be used against recently indicted reputed New England mob boss Anthony DiNunzio. Sources say that the Stefanelli tapes may also be used in cases yet to be brought and this has wiseguys all over the east coast waiting for the other shoe to drop. Stefanelli committed suicide back in February so he will not be taking the stand in any of the upcoming mob cases.
