The feds are attempting to seize assets of up to $2 Million dollars from reputed New England mafia boss Anthony DiNunzio if he is convicted. DiNunzio was indicted last month on racketeering and extortion charges for his part in shaking down local strip clubs. But DiNunzio claims that he is dependent on a $800 dollar a month disability check and own only a 1998 Audi and no other physical assets. Seems times are hard for every one these days even the mob.
"Anthony DiNunzio"
DiNunzio was refused bail and according to a memorandum filed during the bail hearing a list of the reputed mob bosses assets according to him were reported. U.S. District Court Magistrate David Martin wrote the financial resources that DiNunzio reported don't appear to correlate with his position as a leading figure in the New England La Cosa Nostra, and the court was not convinced they were as minimal as he was reporting. DiNunzio has been collecting disability checks since 1997 and is reported to have a bad back and is on insulin for diabetes. Prosecutors claim it was in 1997 that DiNunzio became a made member of the New England Mafia.
