The former boss of the Patriarca crime family or the New England Mafia Luigi "Baby Shacks" Manocchio was sentenced to five and a half years in prison today. Manocchio will be credited with the sixteen months he has already served while being held without bail. He was charged for his role in the shaking down of Providence, RI strip clubs.

Several other defendants including New England mafia capo Edward Lato have also pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing. Anthony DiNunzio the reputed current boss of the Patriarca family was charged last month in a superseding indictment from this case also. This ongoing case has dealt a blow to the leadership of the New England La Cosa Nostra family. Some are predicting that this case could be the final nail in the coffin of the New England crime family but these types of claims have been made before and some how the good fella's find a way to rebound.
