Reputed New England mafia boss Anthony DiNunzio has been indicted by the feds for receiving extortion payments from Providence strip clubs. The ongoing case has already resulted in convictions of former New England mob boss Luigi "Baby Shacks" Manocchio and mob capo Edward "Eddie" Lato. The indictment claims that protection payments collected by Lato from Providence were delivered to DiNunzio in Boston. DiNunzio will likely face racketeering and extortion charges as part of his indictment.

The indictment also details a conversation in which DiNunzio talked like a mob boss with a Gambino family during a meeting in Boston. The conversation took place at a Chinese restaurant that was bugged by the FBI. In a exert from the bugged conversation DiNunzio said:
He said if a member of his crew failed to do as he said, he would kill them. "I'll bury you right in the [expletive] ground puts all the dirt. You're alive. They stay there. I'll stay there [expletive] ten hours until your dead. And I'll dig you back up and make sure your [sic] dead," DiNunzio said.
Named along with DiNunzio in the new indictment are alleged mob associates Thomas Cardillo and Albino "Albie" Folcarelli. FBI Speal Agent in Charge of the Boston office Richard Deslauriers said that with this new indictment the New England La Cosa Nostra became leaderless once again.
