Reputed New England mobster Darin "Nino" Bufalino has had a week of reckoning and is now headed to prison. Prosecutors claim that Bufalino has been a long standing member and associate of the New England mafia. He was sentenced to seven years in prison for an armed robbery charge earlier in the week and now in a separate case sentenced to another seven years for extortion but his terms are set to run concurrently.

Prosecutors say Bufalino's criminal history goes all way back to the 1980's when he was an enforcer for Francis "Cadillac Frank" Salemme who was the boss of the Patriarca crime family at the time. He was most recently a associate and assistant of Patriarca family capo and FBI informant Mark Rossetti. Bufalino was ordered to have no contact with Rosetti who is being held as he awaits trial for charges of extortion, drug trafficking, and crimes of violence.
